About

Make finding and reaching the right customers affordable for every small B2B team.

Magpie Cloud is the company behind MagpieCRM and Magpie Data. Our software is open source. What we sell is the hard part around it: the servers, the data and the sending that make it work.

Mission and vision

A two-person team should be able to sell like a big one.

Our mission is to make finding and reaching the right customers affordable for every small B2B team: the data, the checks and the sending, without enterprise prices.

Our vision is a world where a two-person team can find and reach its customers as well as a sales floor with a six-figure tool budget, on software it can read, run and take with it.

  • One tool instead of five: find people, check their emails, send, and track the deals
  • Priced by what you use, not by how many people log in
  • Open code, so you never have to take our word for how it works

How it's built

The software is open. We run the hard part.

MagpieCRM is open source under the AGPL-3.0 licence, and hosted customers run the same, unmodified app as people who host it themselves. What's hard isn't the code: it's running it well, every day. That's what Magpie Cloud does. Self-hosted and Magpie Cloud, side by side

Verification at scale

A pool of verification servers with clean IP addresses, kept off blocklists and paced so mail servers keep answering.

Deliverability

Mail servers whose reputation we watch, a signing key for each customer's domain, and limits that protect new senders.

Data and agreements

The data behind prospect search, the agreements with the companies that supply it, and nothing kept that we don't need.

Servers, updates, backups

Each customer's copy kept running, updated and backed up, so nobody has to be on call for their own CRM.

What we stand by

Three promises.

Open source, AGPL

The software stays open. You can read it, run it yourself, change it, and leave with your data whenever you like.

Prices on the page

No per-seat fees and no "talk to sales" for the core products. You see what it costs before you start.

Compliance built in

Unsubscribe links, bounce and complaint handling, opt-outs, signed sending domains, a DPA and named sub-processors: done for you, not left as homework.

From the founder

Why I started Magpie.

I started Magpie because finding and emailing the right people was harder and dearer than it should be. I needed to do it for my own outreach, and the tools that do it well charge per seat and per credit, so a small team pays enterprise prices for a fraction of the use.

The cheap way meant stitching five tools together: one for data, one to check emails, one to send, one for the pipeline. And the data often couldn't be trusted. Guessed and bought addresses bounce, and every bounce costs your domain a little of its reputation.

So Magpie does it in one place, checks every address with its mail server before it's used, and puts the price on the page. The code is open, so you never have to take my word for any of it.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is Magpie Cloud open source?

The product is. MagpieCRM is open source under AGPL-3.0, and hosted customers run the same, unmodified app. The tools we use to run it for customers, such as our servers, monitoring and verification setup, are ours.

Why pay for Magpie Cloud if the code is free?

Because running it well is the hard part: verification servers with clean IP addresses, mail servers with a good reputation, prospect data and the agreements behind it, updates and backups. Self-hosting is free if you'd rather do that work yourself.
